Do you accept my insurance?

At Sparrow, we have a Direct Primary Care model (DPC), which means you pay a set price for each service you receive. This allows us to keep our costs completely transparent and our prices affordable for all patients, regardless of insurance status.

Will my insurance cover tests or medications?

If your insurance policy includes coverage for medications, labs/tests, or imaging, the facility that performs your labs can bill your insurance directly. Services will be covered according to the terms of your policy.

Can I submit my charges to my insurance on my own?

Although we do not bill insurance directly, or submit to any insurance on behalf of patients (including Medicare and Medicaid), we will provide documentation for patients to submit if requested.

Why did you name it 'Sparrow'?

The sparrow is often used as a symbol of cooperation, teamwork, and finding simple joys in life. Sparrows are also used in reference to care and concern for the individual, regardless of means or status. Caring and compassion for each of our patients, without judgement or condemnation, is at the core of who we are as providers and why we chose careers in healthcare.

What if I need care beyond what Sparrow can provide?

We maintain close working relationships with specialists of all disciplines, and we happily coordinate care and referrals as needed to ensure our patients' needs are met.

Who are the founders of Sparrow?

Abby Rhoades, FNP, Tyler Reidhead, DC, and Drew Flack, DC are the founders of Sparrow Integrated Health. Drs. Reidhead and Flack provide administrative leadership as well as clinical consulting on conservative care options, including diet, lifestyle, supplementation, and physical rehabilitation options.

Why the 'Fee for Service' model?

The owners and providers at Sparrow Integrated Health have chosen the ‘fee for service’ model, because we strongly desire to offer treatment plans to our patients that are not dictated by their insurance plan or company. By keeping insurance out of the picture, we are able to keep our costs low, as the typical high prices seen in health care are dictated by the business of insurance, not the actual services provided.
By adopting this ‘fee for service’ model, we are also able to cater and offer care to those who do not have insurance, or may have a high deductible plan, as the out-of-pocket costs here are a fraction of the price. While a person’s co-pay may be minimal, the bill that comes in the mail a few weeks later, may be outrageous. Our pricing model has the patient paying for the care they received, prior to leaving the office, so there are no surprise bills showing up in the mail weeks later.
Another perk of this service model, is it allows us to customize each patient’s care plan, with affordable and direct testing and treatment options. Whether you are needing an in depth workup, or a simple and quick test or procedure, we are able to build a care plan that caters to your needs, while also ensuring that it is one that you can afford.

Do you treat kids?

Here at Sparrow, we offer numerous options for pediatric urgent care diagnoses and treatments. We value the expertise that pediatrician’s hold in managing well-child visits, immunizations, and chronic conditions, and we lean on that expertise. However, we know that sometimes finding availability, especially with short term notice for acute issues, can be difficult. This is where we step in. We are able to offer pediatric urgent care options, with same-day availability, to treat those illnesses, infections, or injuries that cannot wait for the next available appointment at your pediatrician’s office. Our goal is to be a part of the team that keeps your kids happy, healthy, and safe. We will also work in collaboration with your pediatrician, to ensure they are kept in the loop of diagnosis and treatment, so that all members of the provider team are on the same page.

What services do you offer?

We are a boutique clinic that offers a wide variety of services that can be tailored to your specific needs. With Primary Care, Urgent Care, Women’s Health, and Functional Hormone Management being the four umbrella specialties, there are numerous services offered under each. We want to be your first call, whether you need your yearly check-up, you have an urgent care need, or if you are needing specialty diagnosis and management of function conditions. See our comprehensive Service List for more information.

What are your prices?

As a core piece of our foundation, we believe that transparency is vital in health care. We all have, or we know someone who has had, a negative experience with the healthcare field, and because of this, there is a certain level of distrust that is often seen among patients and their providers, or care teams. It is our hope that by offering transparency in your care and in our pricing, we can begin to build back that bridge of trust with our patients.

We want our patients to get to a place where they are living their healthiest and happiest lives, and we believe that high insurance rates and costs should not stand in the way of that. By leaving the insurance game behind, we are able to offer simple and affordable pricing that allows us to focus on patient care, and not insurance-controlled treatment plans. See our Services page for a full breakdown of pricing.
